From idea…to concept…to design principles…to iconic design…to construction, and now…to place management of the District of Columbia’s largest infrastructure project ever built.
This iconic bridge is a monumental gateway from the “President’s Highway” into Washington’s Monumental Core, connecting Andrews Air Force Base to the White House. A 21st-century, multi-modal hub, the bridge creates a new waterfront destination and connects communities on both sides of the Anacostia River, utilizing innovative national best practices, resulting in a new civic icon with its own Instagram account.
Services included drafting of NEPA EIS Purpose & Need, Urban Design Principles, Visual Quality Design Guidelines, Project Design Review, Place Management Planning, Owner’s Representative for design development during design-build procurement, convenor of Design Approvals Working Group, including NCPC, CFA, SHPO.
