City in 2050: Creating Blueprints for Change

What must we do now in order to create value in the City in 2050?

With The City in 2050: Creating Blueprints for Change, the Urban Land Institute takes the opportunity to create a dialogue that explores potential paths of innovation. The initiative is presented as both a travelling exhibition and as a publication designed to foster an exchange of ideas to prepare for and act upon the changes facing metropolitan areas over the next decades as the world becomes more urbanized.  Structured as community-based research during the depths of the 2008 financial crisis, this publication aligns contemporary decision-making with the long-term impacts associated with commercial real estate development cycles.

Uwe Brandes served as lead author.  Completed while serving as senior vice president of the Urban Land Institute, 2008.  Collaborators include Maureen McAvey and Matt Johnston.
