On September 24, the National Building Museum opened Coming Together: Reimagining America’s Downtowns, a new exhibition examining the state of urban centers in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. The exhibition documents how cities have responded to challenges such as vacant office space, homelessness, and the long-term impacts of social distancing in high-density environments.
The research for the exhibition was led by BrandesPartners in collaboration with the National Building Museum and curated by Uwe Brandes.
Coming Together: Reimagining America’s Downtowns will remain on view through fall 2026 at the National Building Museum, located at 401 F Street NW, Washington, DC.
