Uwe Brandes, AICP

Principal 

Uwe S. Brandes is founder and principal of Brandes Partners LLP.  An award-winning practitioner in urban design and sustainable urban development, Brandes has 35 years of experience in the planning, design, and development of new buildings, the public realm, and development partnerships. Projects completed under his direction have received national and international awards from the American Planning Association, the American Institute of Architects, the American Society of Landscape Architects, and the Urban Land Institute.

With a firm commitment to the unique cultural, social, and environmental conditions of each urban place, Brandes has authored urban development strategies in cities on five continents.  Brandes is a professor of the practice at Georgetown University and director of the Urban & Regional Planning Program.  He holds a Master of Architecture from Harvard University and A.B. in Engineering Science from Dartmouth College. He serves as chair of the District of Columbia Commission on Climate Change & Resiliency and the NoMa Parks Foundation.


Landis Masor, AICP

Associate

Landis Masnor is an associate of Brandes Partners LLP.  An urban planner with a decade of experience integrating urban planning, economic development, geospatial analysis, and multi-modal mobility systems.  Known for his interdisciplinary skillset, Landis has a track record of managing complex multi-stakeholder projects while prioritizing equitable, sustainable, and human-scale analysis.  He is practiced at building consensus among diverse stakeholders, leading teams of experts, and working at the nexus of place management, public realm stewardship and economic development.  Landis is a graduate of Georgetown University’s Urban and Regional Planning program and an AICP-certified urban planner.


Otto Condon

Associate

Otto Condon has 30 years of experience as an urban planner and architectural designer. He has guided master plans for public agencies, private institutions, business improvement districts, neighborhood groups, and transit-oriented development across the United States. His work has been a catalyst for significant public and private investment.

His international experience includes a variety of project types, from Master Planning to Architectural Design. He has served on Urban Land Institute Advisory Panels, and presented at numerous conferences, including AIA, ASLA, APA, RailVolution, and the Placemaker Leadership Forum.


Michael Stevens, AICP

Associate

Michael Stevens has a career spanning over 30 years in economic development, urban planning, and downtown and neighborhood development. Stevens is the founder of the Capitol Riverfront Business Improvement District (BID) in Washington, D.C., where he served as president for over 15 years. Under his leadership, the Anacostia waterfront was transformed into a bustling mixed-use community with a large workforce, a national sports stadium, and Washington D.C.’s fastest-growing mixed-income residential population.

Stevens was previously the president and CEO of the Washington, D.C. Economic Partnership, an organization he built from the ground up to market the city of Washington, DC, worldwide. Stevens received a Master’s degree in Urban Planning from Virginia Tech and a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Sociology from Millsaps College.
